- Telll reads the project board you connect. It only reads. It never creates, changes or deletes anything in Jira, ClickUp or Notion. On Trello it only adds a link, a comment or a card move when someone hands work in through Telll.
- We use what we read to ask your team about late or quiet tasks and to show you where projects stand. Nothing else.
- No ads, no tracking, no analytics, no cookies. We never sell data.
- You can disconnect your board at any time. The sign-in keys for it are deleted at once.
For IT and works councils there is a page with the technical details: telll.ai/it.
1. Who is responsible
Telll is run by Merv Marketing:
Merv MarketingCramer-Klett-Str. 24a
85579 Neubiberg
Germany
Email: khaled@mervmarketing.com. Write to us there for anything about your data. Full company details are in our imprint.
2. When you visit telll.ai
Our host, Vercel, records the technical details every website receives: your IP address, the time, the page you opened and your browser type. This keeps the site running and safe from abuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a working, secure site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Vercel keeps these logs for a short time only.
All fonts are served from telll.ai itself. Your browser does not connect to Google or any other font service.
The demo plays in your browser. A name or company you type into it goes into the link you share and is not sent to us.
3. When you apply for the beta
We store your name, email address, company and which project tool you use, so we can reply and set you up. The legal basis is the steps before a contract you asked for (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
4. When you sign in
You sign in with your email address and a one-time code we email you. Your browser then keeps a sign-in key in its own storage, so you stay signed in. It is not a cookie and it is not used for tracking.
5. When you connect a board
You connect your board on your tool's own screen. We never see your password. The access keys your tool gives us are stored encrypted.
From the board, Telll reads:
- task names, columns or statuses, due dates, and when a task last changed
- the board and project names
- who is on each task: their name, and their email address if the tool shares it
Telll keeps an hourly snapshot of where each task stands, so it can see what moved and what has gone quiet.
Telll then sends short check-in emails to the people on late or quiet tasks. Their answers are stored with the task, so the manager sees where it stands. To read a written answer, Telll may pass the answer and the task name to Anthropic's AI model, which turns it into a short status.
When an agency uses Telll, the agency decides what is on its board and whose work Telll asks about. For that board data the agency is the controller and we process it on the agency's behalf, under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR).
6. When you report a problem
The "Something wrong?" box sends us one email with your message, the page you were on, your browser type and, if you are signed in, your email address. We use it only to fix the problem.
7. Who helps us run Telll
We only use providers we need, and each one only gets what it needs:
- Vercel Inc. (USA): hosting the website and the app
- Supabase Inc. (USA, servers in the USA): the database
- Resend (USA): sending sign-in codes and check-in emails
- Anthropic PBC (USA): reading written check-in answers
- Google (USA): our own email, which receives problem reports and the nightly backup
These providers are in the USA. Data goes there on the basis of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 44 to 46 GDPR).
Your project tool (Trello, ClickUp, Jira or Notion) is your own provider. Telll only reads from it through the connection you approved.
8. How long we keep data
- Your account, board data and check-in answers: as long as you use Telll. Ask us and we delete your workspace.
- Board access keys: deleted the moment you disconnect the board.
- Beta applications: until we have set you up, or until you ask us to delete them.
- Problem reports: as long as we need them to fix the problem.
Every night an encrypted backup copy of the database is sent to our own mailbox, so Telll can be restored after a failure. Each backup is kept for 30 days, then deleted.
9. Your rights
You can ask us what data we hold about you, and have it corrected, deleted, limited, or handed to you in a common format. You can object to processing based on our legitimate interest. Write to khaled@mervmarketing.com.
You can also complain to a data protection authority. Ours is the Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (BayLDA) in Ansbach.
10. Changes
When Telll changes what it does with data, we update this page and the date at the top.
